Deep Secret

Set in a remote Derbyshire valley just after World War II, the story revolves around identical twins Madeleine and Grace Barnes. Their close-knit community is shattered by two simultaneous crises: the sudden, tragic death of one of the twins and a compulsory government order to flood their ancestral valley to construct the Ladybower Reservoir. As the rising waters threaten to permanently submerge their homes, long-buried family secrets regarding love, grief, and survival slowly float to the surface.
