Out of the Woods

Following a devastating relationship breakdown and grappling with the complexities of his bisexual identity, Luke Turner seeks refuge and clarity within the dense trees of London’s ancient Epping Forest. Rather than finding a simple, idyllic escape, he discovers that the forest mirrors his own internal conflicts—a complex landscape of beauty, historical secrets, hidden desires, and raw survival. This raw and deeply honest memoir blends observations of the natural world with an exploration of guilt, religious upbringing, and sexual identity, showing how a troubled mind can find a path to healing through the wildness of nature.
