What the Shadows Hide

When the long-hidden, dried-up remains of two individuals are discovered embracing inside a walled-off room of an old Victorian warehouse, local authorities are left completely baffled. After half a year of dead-end police work, Detective Inspector Ridpath is brought in to take over the cold case. The media quickly dubs the grim discovery the “Romeo and Juliet murders,” but the mystery only deepens as Ridpath struggles to identify who the victims are and who killed them. Soon, he finds himself hunting for answers against the clock, unearthing dark secrets that point to a potential serial killer who has been operating undetected in Manchester for two decades.
