The Diabolic

Set in a ruthless, corrupt galactic empire, the story follows Nemesis, a “Diabolic”—a genetically engineered, humanoid super-soldier created for the sole purpose of bonding with and defending a single person. Nemesis is bound to Sidonia, a senator’s daughter, and is capable of horrific violence to keep her safe. When Sidonia’s father sides with a growing rebellion, the power-hungry Emperor summons Sidonia to the galactic court to be kept as a political hostage. To save her only friend, Nemesis secretly takes Sidonia’s place. Forced to masquerade as a delicate noblewoman in a nest of treacherous politicians and backstabbing aristocrats, she must hide her lethal skills to survive. However, as galactic war looms, Nemesis begins to realize that despite being manufactured as a heartless weapon, she might possess a deeper capacity for genuine humanity than the corrupt elites surrounding her.
