The 3rd Woman

Set in a dystopian, near-future Los Angeles where the United States has economically succumbed to the political and cultural dominance of the People’s Republic of China, corruption runs rampant and the government strictly controls information. The story follows Madison Webb, a determined and investigative journalist for the LA Times who finds herself personally entangled in a crisis when her sister, Abigail, is murdered. While the local authorities quickly write the death off as an isolated heroin overdose, Madison discovers inconsistencies in the police reports. Her independent investigation soon connects her sister’s death to two prior, unlinked murders of blonde women. Recognizing that her sister was actually the “third woman” in a targeted pattern, Madison must navigate a web of government conspiracies, media suppression, and danger to expose the truth before she becomes the next victim.
