The story focuses on the early days of the Legion of the Damned. Humanity has expanded to the stars, discovered alien life, and established a vast empire. The plot follows the rebirth and redemption of a young recruit, Lady Catherine “Cat” Carletto, who loses everything and hides her true identity by joining the Legion under the alias Andromeda McKee.
