Buried

This novel marks the debut of Detective Jack Warr, a charming but somewhat aimless investigator who has recently relocated to London. His mundane routine is completely upended when a devastating fire at a secluded cottage uncovers a horrific scene: a severely burned corpse surrounded by millions of dollars in untraceable, stolen cash. As Jack digs into the mystery, he finds himself navigating a treacherous criminal underworld. He turns out to be surprisingly adept at dealing with these dangerous elements, but as he gets closer to the truth, his own moral boundaries begin to blur, forcing him to decide exactly how far he is willing to go to solve the case.
