Golden Key

Set in the late-Victorian era and the turn of the 20th century, this eerie, slow-paced Gothic mystery takes place in the strange stretch of English countryside called the Norfolk Fens. The story follows Helena Walton-Cisneros, a respected medium and master of disguise who is hired by Lady Matthews to find her three stepdaughters who vanished without a trace twenty years prior. Helena’s investigation intertwines with Samuel Moncrieff, a melancholy university student escaping tragedy, and Eliza Waltraud, a woman retreating to a haunted family property who wants to right the wrongs done to a historical female academic. The narrative heavily incorporates spiritualism, séances, and uncanny transformations.
