The Amateur Historian

This grit-infused crime thriller takes place in York, England, weaving together two separate timelines. In the modern day, protagonist Rick Rounder goes back to his old stomping grounds ten years after a painful failure to prevent a father from taking his young daughter’s life. The narrative shifts between his present-day investigation and the historical, poverty-stricken Edwardian neighborhood of Hungate in 1901, linking a historical mystery with modern-day hard-boiled detective work.
