The Inkblots: Hermann Rorschach, His Iconic Test, and the Power of Seeing

This book offers a captivating, deeply researched exploration into the creation of the famous Rorschach inkblot test. It serves as a dual biography, tracing the life of its Swiss creator, Hermann Rorschach, while examining how his 10 simple inkblot cards evolved into a massive global phenomenon. Searls delves into the historical intersection of art and science that inspired the test, exploring how visual perception relates to human personality, and details how a medical diagnostic tool eventually left the lab to permanently shape modern psychology, law, and popular culture.
