Dawn breaks over Vancouver and almost no one in the world has slept. Only a rare few—about one in ten thousand—can still sleep, all sharing the same golden dream. For the rest, absolute sleep deprivation means psychosis will set in after six days, and the body will die after four weeks. As global panic ensues, a writer named Paul continues to sleep while watching his partner disintegrate, navigating a bizarre and violent new world.
