Contemplative Prayer

This book delves into the deep practices of Christian mystical prayer, examining how traditional silent contemplation fits into our modern philosophical understanding. Rather than keeping prayer strictly in the realm of simple devotion, the author bridges the gap between ancient spiritual traditions and contemporary continental philosophy. The text addresses challenging themes like the feeling of God’s absence—arguing that this silence isn’t a barrier, but rather a profound gateway to deeper spiritual awareness—while exploring how our language and minds attempt to grasp the divine.
