Devil’s Day

Every autumn, John Pentecost leaves his life as a teacher behind to return to his family’s isolated farm in the Lancashire moors, assisting with the annual sheep gathering. However, this particular visit is weighed down by the recent passing of his grandfather, the fierce patriarch known as “the Gaffer.” As John tries to re-immerse himself and his new wife into the valley’s tight-knit community, he becomes entangled in its deeply entrenched, eerie local folklore. The villagers remain bound by ancient superstitions, dark rituals, and a collective paranoia stemming from a legendary blizzard a century prior, keeping a constant, fearful watch against a malevolent force they believe threatens their way of life.
