Let Sleeping Vets Lie

This book is the third installment in James Herriot’s beloved autobiographical series detailing his life as a country veterinarian in the sweeping, rural landscape of Yorkshire, England. Now with a couple of years of hands-on experience under his belt, James finds himself deeply embedded in the local farming community, managing both difficult animal patients and their equally eccentric owners. The narrative weaves together heartwarming and humorous anecdotes featuring his erratic business partner Siegfried, Siegfried’s charming but chaotic younger brother Tristan, and the chaotic beauty of the spring lambing season. Alongside his professional adventures, the book follows James’s bumpy and often jinxed romantic pursuit of Helen, the woman who captures his heart.
