The world was all before them

This novel offers a deeply intimate look at human existence by tracking a single year in the interconnected lives of two main characters, Philip (a young general practitioner) and his girlfriend, Sue. The narrative stands out by juxtaposing the grand scale of the global human population with the microscopic, biological, and biochemical mechanics that make up our daily routines and emotional choices. Through themes of love, personal risk, moral conscience, and betrayal, the book explores how small, everyday decisions ripple outward to shape who we are and how we connect to the world around us.
